ok, Ther has been alot of reference to the bullen's and the variety of animals they hold as well as questions about their elephants etc. I'm off to wallacia in the coming weeks to talk with Brenton Bullen and look around his property to look at a few of the animals. I am going to take this oppurtunity to also ask him some questions. So if you have anything you want to know about the bullen family or their animals past and present please let me know asap.

Leopards, and if any, jaguars. (Bullens had lots of leopards years ago, and despite very basic accommodation they bred well for them. They also had some jaguars.)

In fact, Jarkari, information on any of the animals they still keep would be much appreciated.

It would be good to know if they are allowed to bring in fresh blood for their animals, or are they quite inbred.

Although the place is not now open to the general public, ask him if he would like to earn a few bucks running the occasional behind- the-scenes tour for interested people like me.
 
I can tell you now I know he has atleast one leopard, lions, tigers, puma. he also breeds hamadryas baboons and crab eating macaques. I will ask him but due to his licence i don't think it will be possible for him to let members of the public enter the property as he is not licenced under the exhibited animals act/regulation. So members of the public are not allowed to pay to look at his animals. I will however ask him. He is not always there, spending alot of time at Aust Zoo with his elephants and running tours would probably require him to hire more staff.

It certainly is an interesting topic for me.

I would love some idea of the numbers of tigers and lions they still have if they are still productive, or mostly older cats.

Is there a long term future within their breeding programs?

I would also be interested to know if they provide stock to the Stardust/Lennon group of circus's or are there other similar setups to Bullens out there?

I would also love to have a look at what he does.

Do they run a couple of larger lion prides or do they have more facilities do isolate smaller groups?

Are many of the tigers housed together?

As I saw somewhere that the family once had about 360 lions (including in the lion parks), I would assume it is a pretty big set-up.
 
Years ago a mate and I took a couple of young ladies we had only just met to the African Lion Safari at Warragamba. As we drove through, everywhere you looked - mating lions! (They were all at it!)

I'm sure the girls thought we had planned it to get them in the mood. ;)

HaHa! Can't tell you too much!

Ah, what the heck! "I cannot tell a lie." My mate and I were young and green and we blew it! (oh, the opportunities I've missed!)
