I do hope they will let the monitors breed at some point!

BTW: The location might benefit from some more indoor exhibits for both reptiles and amphibians. At the moment, it is a rather sparse affair and a big empty hole right now. Too much visitor area ...

Also news: the pygmy hippo was transported to another zoo. That means that area only has the ringtailed lemurs and the warthogs left.

Also news: in the Mangrove there is already a few baby birds (Blue-black grassquit)
In the 'Zie-Zoo' (bi-monthly magazine of the zoo) they also said the Green Jays wont move to the Mangrove until the balance is made there.
Other dreams they have with the mangrove are: baby manatee, iguanas, frogs, zostera, and more mangrove bird species.

Does anyone know what the is gonna be between the new mangrove and the eagles?
Theres this piece of land where the old mangrove used to be, and theres still building stuff set up there in a square.

That part will remain behind the scenes for now and I don't think it will be developed any time soon.

Its like public tho? It is not where the quarrantine bird cages are but like flamingos/eagle/mangrove intersection is this baregrounded thing with building stuff on it

You mean where the old Mangrove used to be? Don't think anything will be developed there any time soon. It is not (yet) in any ecodisplay, so I guess they will just fill the area with plants for now.

yea thats what i said. where the old mangrove used to be :P it has like these construction poles in the ground. So maybe plants. But they should build something new i'd say where 'gigantisch apenkooien' used to be this summer. It is not like thats the best place to put another playground as theres no always open restaurant nearby.

Whoops, read over that part.:D

Maybe that area will be developed at some point in the future, but for now I'd say Burgers' has areas that are in more drastic need of refurbishment.;)
