back to that famous desert. a theme rarely seen in zoos. can anyone tell something about desert, or this specific desert in generally in relation towards ongoing warming up of this planet, climate change.
how is this changing climate affecting the desert, its flora, its birds, insects, other living animals? as well a possible change at the level of microbes, virus, fungi, etcetera

Dit gebeurt allemaal in het kader van het Europese populatiemanagementprogramma (EEP). Dat programma helpt dierentuinen samen te zorgen voor gezonde en sterke dierpopulaties in Europa.⁠ ⁠ Onze nieuwe man mag zich namelijk gaan voortplanten met onze twee vrouwelijke aardvarkens. Helaas was er met de vorige man geen match."

Burgers' Zoo on Instagram: "Giraffe geboren! ⁠ ⁠ Vorige week hebben we een nieuwe giraffe mogen verwelkomen. Het jong stond al snel wiebelend op zijn lange poten en verkende nieuwsgierig de wereld om zich heen.⁠ ⁠ Wist je dat giraffen, na een draagtijd van ongeveer 14 maanden, staand bevallen? Het jong maakt daarbij een val van zo’n 1,5 meter, maar dankzij een instinctieve draaibeweging landt het veilig op zijn schouder.⁠ ⁠ De jonge giraffe is te bewonderen in de stallen, die vanuit de Bush bereikbaar zijn."

On Tuesday Burgers' Zoo opened the Burgers' Academy, a new building at the site of the former Panter Plaza gift shop and food stand near the leopards and the Park Restaurant. This building houses a space for educational expositions, a space for the park guides, offices and spaces for the education department and researchers, and a presentation room for classes, groups and the education of park guides.
