I've just uploaded a photo of the Cabot's Tragopan at Chester. It is in the Chester gallery (obviously).

Thanks Rob.
It's nice of you to post this message, so those people who are interested can check out the gallery.

Thats a great photograph
Could you p/m me your flickr page site
on that subject if anyone else could do the same I would be grateful

It's not my photo, or my site. I'll ask the owner if I'm able to post the flickr site link on here.

I know the owner of said photo, and Im unsure on whether said person will want the link on here.

Finally got to see this wonderfull Bird today but he just wouldn`t come out from under the bush so he could be photographed.

No, it seems there is only one person he likes to show himself to, and he doesn't even post any more.

...but heard that their bark is worse than their bite
That's just shocking. ;)

Roughly what time of day was this? A few of us were in that area this morning - still no show. I'm sure the bird seems me coming when I pass the giant otters.

About 1.30pm id say. it was only out for about twenty seconds then darted back into bushes

How about disguising yourself as a female tragopan?
A female tragopan?! Damn, I've just been disguising myself as a female. ;)

Thanks for the time Lee, it had been said that the tragopan was more showy in early morning, but that doesn't seem to be particularly reliable in practice.

Keepers told me the best time to see him was in the morning, but I expect it's trial and error, as with many species.
