The first comments from the zoo about Jasiri's arrival. Apparently he will join the girls sometime in the fall after clearing quarantine and presumably settling into his new digs.
It will be an exciting next two to three years for Calgary's gorilla fans. Once the troop has stablized after his integration the next order of business will be breeding. Kiojah and Dossi have green lights to breed with him though Kiojah may still be nursing. That could decide which is bred first. Yewande is now officially old enough to breed too but I would assume the older girls will go first so she can again watch good mothering, critical for her since Zuri was far from the best example. I would be surprised if Zuri is bred again given her mothering record and own medical issues. Calgary though could well see 3 infants in the next few years and probably in quick succession.
