Camara-trap photo Andean cat

I thought most of the photos available were of wild animals, aren't they? Aren't the famous shots by Jim Sanderson wild?

As far as I am aware, every photograph in existence is of a wild animal, barring one or two photos taken whilst a wild animal was being radio-tagged.

It's a great shot, by the by - the Andean cat is so little known that it is possible there is some interbreeding with the colocolo where the ranges overlap, but even if this is not the case the species is certainly sister to the colocolo/pampas/pantanal clade.

Incidentally, this is two cats :p which is significant in and of itself, as the species is believed to be solitary.

There are several photos of Andean mountain cats on Google Images and I think most, if not all, of them were taken in the wild. I agree with the others that the camera-trap photo is good. I'm glad there is some interest in small, obscure cats, as I get a bit tired of hearing about the need to save subspecies of big cats, while little effort seems to be made to save species of small cats that could be bred in captivity and released into the wild.
