Penguin fundraiser at $300,000 and counting as Cameron Park Zoo officials try to keep up with rising construction costs
The zoo just put out bids for construction of their African penguin exhibit. Apparently the complex will include a black-footed cat exhibit as well.

On May 25th, the zoo announced that (0.0.3) roseate spoonbills have been born earlier in May.

On June 15th, the zoo announced that a (1.0) Sumatran tiger named Bimo is being transferred to another AZA facility.

I scrolled through the Facebook comments and the zoo stated he's moving to the Baton Rouge Zoo.
Also on June 15th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (1.0) red-rumped agouti from the Los Angeles Zoo in California.

As of July 24, he was still at the Los Angeles Zoo and hadn't yet moved, as I saw him there in his regular exhibit.
Update: Per a Global Tiger Day post by Baton Rouge Zoo and a subsequent comment, it was confirmed that Bimo is now in Baton Rouge. Additionally, Baton Rouge Zoo sent their 5 year old male Sumatran tiger Satu to Cameron Park Zoo.
The Zoo is asking additional funds to support their upcoming expansion project (penguins, visitor plaza, black-footed cat) due to inflation.

On August 20th, the zoo announced that their (1.0) jaguar named Nacon passed away at age 18 due to undetected cancer, though further tests are pending.

We will eventually introduce Satu to our female Sumatran Tiger, Maharani with hopes they will produce a future litter. Maharani has had five cubs with our other male tiger, Kucing.
On September 28th, the zoo announced that due to the reoccurrence of avian influenza, they have closed the Brazos River Country Aviary to the public as well as moved their caracara and black vulture off exhibit.

On December 2nd, the zoo announced they reopened the Brazos River Country Aviary to the public. They also announced they will be starting to move birds back out that were affected by avian influenza.
