The ring tailed lemur group grew by one Mar 18. A male was born to parents Capri Sun and Sprite and was named Snickers by keepers. He wont be baby for long. His aunt Crystal Light is due to give birth in the next few weeks. The babies are the first for the ring tailed lemurs who arrived at the zoo last year.

Orangutan, Mei, is pregnant and the baby is due around the end of the month. It will be the first orang birth for the zoo.

Mei, the orangutan, gave birth to a girl May 17th. The zoo is letting people help decide between three names; Batari, which means goddess; Lestari which means eternal; and Cahaya, meaning light or radiance.

Nice! 2,5 years since the last offspring.

Orang infant, Razak, has been removed from his mother's care for the most part due to odd behaviour from mom, Mei. She still has limited supervised contact with him to nurse for now and her anxiety seems to have decreased. Hope is that she will resume full time care eventually.
