Can somebody recognise the zoo image taken in the early sixties, its not Chester, it was among many

I don't recognise the zoo, but a lot of zoos housed bears in these types of enclosures in the 70s and into the 80s. Dublin had american and asian black bears in something like this, but the mountain/hill in the background rules them out as a possibility. Thanks for posting though, it really made me think.

The bear is an Asian black bear juvenile, so that should narrow it down already.

Zootierliste has just 138 European zoos which formerly held Asiatic black bears without subspecies identification: although not all of them will have held the species at a time when this photo could have been taken ;)

It 'feels' like the UK to me( at least the visitors do...) From the background a few suggestions;

Belfast...Ilfracombe...Welsh Mountain Zoo(if it was open then)....Flamingo Park Yorkshire.
