Canids

This has made me realise I really haven't seen too many canids at all :confused:

  1. Grey wolf
  2. Maned wolf
  3. Dhole
  4. African wild dog
  5. Bush dog
  6. Arctic fox
  7. Red fox
 
I myself also love canids. I'll do my list (domestic dogs excluded). Bold means also seen in the wild

Red Fox
Arctic Fox
Fennec Fox
Pale Fox
Grey Fox
Coyote
Gray Wolf
Arctic Wolf
Mexican Gray Wolf
Red Wolf
Maned Wolf
Dhole
African Wild Dog
Raccoon Dog
Bush Dog

And hope to expand this even more.

(I included many some grey wolf subspecies because sometimes they are separate).

Sometimes you'll see them in smaller zoos (like Buttonwood) or "Zooseum"/nature centers (like Squam Lakes).
 
Since 2021, the year I started my life list, I have seen:
- Dog;
- Crab-eating fox;
- Hoary fox;
- Maned wolf.
However, before 2021, I had also seen:
- African wild dog;
- Bush dog;
- Eurasian wolf.

I've only seen these species with the Coyote and Domestic Dog being the only species found in both in captivity and in the wild.

Since posting this back in 2019, I’ve been able to add dhole to the list! I’ve also seen wild red foxes on one brief occasion.
