In February, a 4 year old Snow Leopard named Monet died pneumonia. Recently, the zoo got a female Amur Leopard to replace her.
Also, when the white alligator left last year, a juvenile alligator replaced her.

So they have a leopard leopard now? They have one at Southwick, but he/she comes out when he/she feels like it. Is this one any more gregarious? Not that cats are particularly gregarious creatures in general. My mother and I are planning a visit soon and we want to know what we have to look forward to.

The Zoo euthanized their 25 year old female Sloth Bear, Amy on Sep. 3rd. On Sep. 7th, her mate, Goof, was euthanized at the age of 27. Both bears had health issues. The Zoo no lobber houses sloth bears for now. The bears cubs over the years have moved on had their own cubs. Some of their cubs and grand-cubs can be seen at Brookfield Zoo, National Zoo, Little Rock Zoo and ZooBoise.

New rainforest exhibit is to open soon. Dont know exact date but when it does it will feature many new species, like-
Scarlet ibis
Red-crested turaco
Cuviers Dwarf Caiman
Rodriguez fruit bat
Palawan peacock peasants
Ringed teal
Red-footed tortoise
Blood python
Red-tailed rat snake
Black-naped fruit dove

Also- the Lemur side of the otter building is now closed. I know currently birds are being quarantined but I heard rumors that a new exhibit would be made there afterwards-instead of the ring-tailed lemurs. The zoo also recently acquired you at geckos and they are currently off-exhibit.

The porcupine will NOT be going back in the rainforest exhibit. Also, a new director starts in about a week.

2.3 tokay geckos. Auto-correct changed it without me realizing. Only 3 will be going on exhibit though- and they have not started work on renovating the corn snake exhibit for the tokays.

How many bears do they have currently. when I went yesterday I only saw 2.
