PROJECT TARSIUS in cooperation with local wildlife center in Bilar on island Bohol in Philliphines succeeded in captive breeding of local tarsiers. First youngster is over 3 weeks old.

I can´t find source in english, so just in Czech: Českým zoologům se podařilo odchovat ohroženého nártouna - iDNES.cz

It used to be project created and (partially) funded by Usti nad Labem zoo, but it lost interest after director changed recently.

is this an actual captive-breeding, or is this one of those places that just stick tarsiers in a fenced enclosure for the tourists?

This pair is kept off-show, but the wildlife center facility is touristy type. Actual captive breeding, with purpose-built aviary, frequent health checks, weighting etc. The pair is kept for 3 years. Their first pregnancy ended with stillborn last May. The head of project is former long-time curator at Zoo Decin - Milada Petru( former EEP coordinator for fishing cats), who also helped to close almost all other tarsiers-keeping places at this island, which couldnt prove good standart of care and needed to frequently replace animals with fresh-cought ones.

I was lucky enough to spend a week at this facility last November, as a friend was working there. Very impressive project.
