Capuchin enclosure....please help

I´m sure we have some real animal boffins out there and we need help....

We have around 30 capuchin monkeys at an animal refuge in bolivia of which 8 of the adults are tethered. We have just bought 3 acres of land where we plan to create two possibly 3 enclosures.

We are desperate for help in the planning of the enclosures.... please help!

I think the cheapest way would be using electric fencing, like the picture you just commented on. You can also get energisers that are solar powered, reducing the costs further. What else did you want to know?
 
Have you tried contacting any of the british zoos or sanctauries that have cappichins for advice on how they house their animals. Monkey world rehomed a large quantity of capuchins recently and may be able to offer advice, and lots of the zoos have well house cappies populations. Im sure they would be able to offer you expert husbandry advice.

Trees are one thing we have alot of in the bolivian jungle.

The plan was to put electrified mesh around the enclosures but since i`ve seen the picture at munster zoo, we are now thinking about doing the same (single wires).

We have been a refuge for capuchins for nearly 8 years so we know are stuff, we are just starting to research enclosures for them as we are recieving more and more via animal sos which is a rescue charity.

We currently have a solar panel system in place for an electic fence we have for an andean bear that was recovered from a market in la paz. The plan would be to get a bigger solar panel and use that to power all fences.

Capuchins being inteligent little critters they are... we are concerned they might over time plan and then escape through tyhe fencing. While we are not concerned about them leaving, we are more concerned about the dangers as most of out capuchinds have been rescued from some bad ´situations´.
