Cats & Other Domestic Animals in Zoos

I think that is a very progressive policy by Australian zoos but it is one that would be very risky in other areas of the world.

Here in Brazil and wider Latin America it would basically be handing animal rights activists a propaganda / metaphorical baseball bat to begin swinging at zoos and damaging their public reputation.
Australians are overall supportive of feral cat control and the Federal government has a commitment to removing millions of them from the environment.

Yes, you see this is the attitude that I would like to see everywhere regarding invasive species but unfortunately I just do not think it will catch on outside of NZ and Australia.

The resistance to programes of that kind would be overwhelming and the animal rights activists would have a field day.
