Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens Central Florida Zoo (Sanford, FL)

Made a recent visit and noticed some changes and missed things from my last visit:

*A small Florida Amphibian House will be opening in August next to the elephant exhibit
*The crocodilian pens have received a remodel since my last visit (2006)
*A new Neotropical Aviary replaced the balen cage that held spider monkeys at the zoo's entrance.
*The spider monkeys have a nice new enclosure by the macaw aviary along the zoo's lake
*Breeding Clouded Leopards are kept in off-display pens.
*And a series of large ropes courses are found throughout the front of the zoo and can be done for about $20??

****Sim, can you place this thread under the Central Florida Zoo forum gallery.

Glad to see they are planning some major improvements and additions, as they have a fantastic location (lakeside forest) but lousy exhibits. It is one of the worst AZA-accredited zoos I have seen (only AZA facility worse than this is Santa Ana Zoo). How ironic that the two worst AZA zoos I have personally seen are located near the two huge tourist-generating Disney Parks in so California & cen Florida.
