Central Park Zoo Central Park Zoo news

Apparently i found info from 2011. I guess it's no longer there since you said you didnt see any signs ThylacineAlive. But there was one kagu though, in a mix exhibit that also had Raggiana BOPs & Magpie Robin.

The only birds in the entire Tropic World exhibit that aren't displayed with the others are the Green-Winged Macaws (probably are but I didn't see them and as they were displayed seperately with Blue/Gold Macaws and they could be seen in the main room). Unless I either forgot after only a week or completely missed it, there's no seperate exhibit housing Raggiana BOP and Magpie Robin.

Some frog species, snake species, a Texas Tortoise, Dwarf Caimans, Short-Tailed Fruit Bats, Banded Mongoose, Cotton-Top Tamarins, Black-and-White Ruffed Lemurs, and Madagascar Hissing Cockroach are the only animals that aren't mixed in the main room.

They have Dwarf Caimans? I hope they do.

Cuvier's Dwarf Caimans, yes. I've heard that they were originally in the main aviary but ate too many birds so where moved. They are currently with the Seba's Short-Tailed Bats in a cave-like exhibit. Personally, I think they water is a bit shallow and the duo didn't seem to have much space to swim around.

The snow leopards replaced the otters and the arctic fox has not been there for years and the exhibit now holds various species of duck.

Well since polar bears are in demand in US zoos and they are not many of them, I doubt they would get a new polar bear. My guesses would be they would keep the exhibit empty or put another type of animal in the exhibit.

- My guess would be Brown Bear as they swim often, and the exhibit is nearly equipped for them. The zoo could just add more climbing structures to the exhibit. There is always the chance that they aqquire the Bronx Zoos bear from that horrible grotto.

They'd have to probably lower the water as Reid Park Zoo is doing for their brown bears. Then again, it'd be great if Tundra could move there.

I honestly doubt Bronx would move Tundra. And even if they did, it would only be a very temporary situation since Tundra is quite old himself!
