We visited Chester Zoo yesterday for the first time in a couple of months to find the Members' 20% discount allowance has changed, so check it out before you get to the till. To qualify for the discount in the cafes you now have to spend over £5 whereas it didn't matter before. If, like us, you have a few coffees throughout the day this means that you can't qualify for the discount despite spending over the £5 minimum across the day.
When purchasing items from the shops, unlike before, not all items are now included - such as books and DVDs.
Staff in the shop did state that a lot of members had expressed their dissatisfaction with the changes as the discount is sold as a 'perk' for being members. They said they were suggesting to members that their views re the changes should be fed back to the Zoo as they were being trialled as such.
Just thought I'd mention it so other Members are forewarned.
