اThis topic protect the last survivors of cheetah in Iran, we hope we can both intellectually
 
Reproduce in captivity for several years before the project started that it was stopped because of lack of female cheetahs But recently, a puppy from the Pirates of the material used and new hope for the success of this project opened

Look forward to more news of the Semnan facility. Nice to know there is a female with Khoski now.

You will surely know for the project to be a success further founders are required. Ideally, say 6.4 or so.

Is there a difference in the breeding strategy of Asiatic cheetahs vs. African plains cheetah? The latter breed mostly in a set up with uneven male attendance ..., e.g. 2.1 or 3.2, so the females have choice of breeding partner?

The first goal is to keep the Cheetah in the wild in addition to breeding in captivity is also addressed
 
Fine. Just that more recently in particularly South Africa has build up quite some experience with reintroducing cheetah into the wild successfully. There is - I am sure you know - an excellent recent compendium review book on carnivore research and reintroduction.
 
I did not know there is a male-female pair in captivity. Captive breeding with African cheetahs shows you need a lot more cats to make breeding work, but here is hoping...
 
If they used skin cells from a cheetah in Argentina it is most likely an African Cheetah. What surprises me is that a Chinese newspaper breaks the news.
 
That last article is depressing. Only two known females remaining and a total population of about 40. The worst part is in the last fifteen years "21 have been killed by farmers, 15 in car accidents, seven from natural causes and five by hunters." Disgusting.

In my opinion, the situation is critical and the only solution is to bring in all the remaining cats for an emergency breeding program. Also probably need to bring in a couple females of the soemmerengi (sp?) race from the breeding program in the UAE to augment the population.

India keeps talking about repopulating the country with... African cheetahs. I wonder if such a plan AD has proposed would allow them to bring back the Asian cheetah. Their prey base would certainly be higher.
