CAZA zoos have been quick to answer the call for homes for the animals. 14 of the 35 species the zoo houses already have homes. They are all looking at their collections and ability to take on the animals and options are becoming available.

The zoo is up to 75% of the homes it needs for its animals. 6 species or around 10 animals still need homes including the zoo's big cats.

The zoo's zebus and black Indian runner ducks will be moved July 16th to Brudenell Miniature in P.E.I.

There was a break in at the zoo and the trespassers filmed the lions. Sounds like most of the animals are relocated and they are just waiting on the border to reopen to send the rest south. This includes Bennett's wallabies, lions, tigers, Burmese pythons and nilgia.

The last dozen animals at the zoo are readying for their new homes. Some rats and snakes will be going home with a keeper to live out their lives as pets. The big cats are going to a rescue group in the US who apparently are cleaning up the mess left behind by Exotic Joe. They just need the paper work to clear and they can go. Until then the zoo is selling off everything it can to pay the three remaining staff members and feed the animals.

The zoo is now down to just 2 snake, 2 lions and 2 tigers. The snakes will stay until the big cats go because their keeper and new owner is looking after the cats. The big cats will be going to Popcorn Park in New Jersey. The lions will stay on there while the tigers continue their journey to their new home sometime after arrival. The tigers new home was never mentioned in the article. Interestingly for all 4 of the big cats this is their second failed zoo as all 4 were born at Bowmanville. Hopefully when they get to their next locations it can be their forever home.
