At least one is due to be mixed in with the meerkats. The latest 'Z' implies it is on show, but I'm not convinced that's the case just yet.

It is not the case as yet, no.

The aardvark den in the meerkat house is under construction. They are running behind schedule because one of the meerkats had babies and work was delayed.

Rosie the Rhino.

I can't remember- Did Rosie the rhino actually leave Chester or is she still there?

If she did, is there any news on how she is faring at Port Lympne?

Last I heard was that Port Lympne had started to mix Rosie with another couple of females,to try and get her used to being with other Black Rhino's.

Its certainly a start, but wouldn't say it was great news,to me great news would be hearing that she had given birth, and for that piece of news I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

You'd best uncross them for a while if she's only met females!

Thats very true but lets hope they manage it as it is her last chance to breed.

If anywhere can do it, it will be at Port Lympne. However I am not very hopeful as I imagine her social problems will be the same wherever she was.

5 mountain chickens have gone on-show in Islands in Danger [in with the iguanas, specifically the middle enclosure with the Antillean iguanas] :)

Popped in today for the quickest visit I've ever made, about 20 minutes max. (I'd been into Chester and decided to just pop in for a few minutes to see a couple of things).

The tiger viewing platform is now open

I admire your restraint in only being in there 20 minutes ;)

Good to hear about the viewing platform.

I once went to Jersey for 5 minutes, just to buy something from the shop as I'd already been round the zoo twice in the same week.
