I don't understand the fuss being made over Chester Zoo not replying to an email, especially from someone who appears to have totally disregarded their terms and conditions regarding selling photos for profit..

If I was in charge of the zoo I WOULD send an email....from my solicitor!!

adrian1963;559864I must admit on the E-Mail point I tend to get more information through the P/M on here then from Chester Zoo said:
You sent 27 emails to Chester Zoo and you wonder that they don`t reply? Really?!

Yep 27 and no reply these included Photography group outing, day trip for 38 passengers, general information, sponsoring a animal so I don't think it's to many as they were not all from the same e-mail address.
I have run my own business in the past and have always answered my e-mails it's just polite to do so but in todays world manners and politeness mean nothing do they.

Edit -
It's not just Chester it's most zoo's these days.

Politeness and Manners cost nothing but make other people happy.

Not to harp back to the photo discussion but I have had personal experience with this and I have found Chester zoo excellent in their communications. I've sent them pictures, some have been used in maps as well as my tiger cub photo being used as the image in the framed paw prints that they auctioned off.

I think it's all about how you approach people.

I have built up a good relationship now with certain individuals in the zoo whom I send my pictures to if I have any I deem suitable.

As a photographer,in my opinion, they are letting me take pictures of their animals. They send me a few free tickets so I can take more for them. It's a win win for both of us. I just feel honoured that they feel my images are good enough to be used.

Just as well youre not in charge of the zoo then:eek:

Can we have a separate 'arguing about the photos' thread, I keep thinking there's some actual Chester news!

I agree! I haven't got any news so I'll make some up.
Asoka the male black rhino who is usually on the left or right or middle enclosure of Spirit of the Jaguar, is looking rather rotund. Do you think there may be a baby on the way? I didn't see the okapis today because I left out that part of the zoo, have they gone to another zoo or died or something? Has anyone heard the rumours about the giant pandas? When are the zebroids going back on show?

Asoka is believed to be giving birth by parthenogenesis.

The okapis have been released back into their natural habitat somewhere in the Sahara desert.

The giant pandas are going to be housed in the old midwife toad vivarium.

The zebroids have been replaced by quaggas.

Now some breaking news.
Chester zoo intend to keep free-flying emus.
