I'm hoping to be there :) There is more information and a couple of videos on the website. The Bali aviary is also going to be accessible.
I am particularly looking forward to seeing the tentacled snakes and the peppermint pikeheads - neither of which I have seen before, so I trust they will be on view.

they weren't featured on the list of animals Chester put on their website a few weeks back- are they definitely destined for Monsoon Forest?

EDIT: just read through the comments on the website and found where they said about tentacled snakes, nevermind.

I am with Alan on that one regarding the snakes. So many fish species I've not seen (or cannot remember seeing), that I'll just be glad to see any of them.

Hatchlings seen in the Tropical House

2 Pekin Robin, 2 Luzon Bleeding Heart Pigeon, 1 Brazilian Tanager

I read yesterday that the series currently being filmed for c4 will consist of 6 x 60 minute episodes.

Wow - by any standard that's a pretty meaty documentary series then.

Great news for the zoo to get such TV exposure especially since Our Zoo was not renewed for a second series.

I've seen them filming a couple of times, looking forward to seeing it do you know when it airs?

On the TV serial I was told they were doing 6 x 60 minute programmes as stated earlier but NO date as been given for the series to air and could be shelved for sometime after completion

I have a feeling this could end up on Amazon as was more or less hinted at.

Good news! The only problem with a female calf is that, provided all goes well, Aung Bo will probably have to be moved on before she starts cycling.

Which with the good zoo diet should not be for 6 years ;) Plenty of time for him to cover other females when ready.

Does anybody have any details of the Red Panda Cubs?

Saw one yesterday when Nima the female moved it from the upper den into the lower den - amusing to watch as the cub is quite big and fluffy and it looked like someone trying to stuff a big duvet into a small hole :)
I'd say it was about a month old from the size and no idea if there is more than one as yet.
Not much info but hopefully helpful :)
