Expected to open in the summer of 2017. Both species can be seen in the zoo until they are transferred over to the new site.

In the Islands complex. Tapir house is on the lawn in between the tigers and the Monsoon Forest area, the bear enclosure will be on the lawn behind the tigers leading up to the public road. This site is to the right of the tapirs.

I don't know if it was mentioned before, but an outdoor extension for the Sloth is well under way, if not completed. I don't know how it's being connected to the indoor section.

Has anyone seen the Sulawesi crested macaques come outside since moving to the islands?

Yes, most of the group was outside when I was last there and were making a very good show for the boat ride punters. :)

For those who haven't seen it, the new enclosure is a fenced-off area in the lawn in front of the Jag House. When the ZooChat group visited the zoo 10 days ago (some of whom can be seen in the Bats Bridge photo), the consensus was that there would be a rope from a hatch in the wall of the house to a tree stump or climbing frame in the enclosure.

This visit was also the first time that I had seen the perfect view from the last Islands viewpoint (on your right as you approach the gift shop). Old Sausu, the babirusa boar, was directly in front of us; the macaques were active in the shrubs behind him, and in the distance we could just see two orangs on their climbing poles - probably Emma and Subis as we had seen them there when we left from the Monsoon Forest.

Hi, does anyone know which of the Grevy's Zebra mares are pregnant and and an approximate time of when they are due? They all seem to have extremely rotund bellies

Due to my visit to the zoo fast approaching (next Tuesday and Wednesday) thought I should ask again: what's the situation with the chimp group? Are Kiki and Vila introduced yet, and if not which chimps are offshow with them? Still Nicky, Friday and Patti?

Nicky & Friday were back with the main group. Neither Kiki or Vila were in the main group when I last visited last week. I'm not sure on females in with Kiki & Vila but I know the only male in with them when I visited the last 2 times was Boris.

Oh nooo I'm hoping he's back onshow by the time we visit! I was very much looking forward to seeing him :')

Visited today, 2 thing I noticed:

- There are a pair of Kirk's Dik-Dik in with the Okapi. Does any one know what happened to the Red Forest Duiker?

- Not major but thought I would mention it, the Elephant House has changed name from "Elephants of the Asian Forest" to "Elephants of the Asian Rainforest"
