A new aviary? Did I read that correctly?

Guess what? I have some pretty average photos of these squirrels taken on 29th July 2006. I believe they were Callosciurus erythraeus gongshanensis. I will post one when I finish my current batch of scans

The new issue of Z magazine mentions the breeding of 4 Javan green magpies, a U.K.first breeding, also the arrival of binturong has been confirmed, but not to subspecies level.
however I still feel that the magazine is far too heavily weighted in favour of conservation, and against things hapening in the zoo.
Other new arrivals are Indian Dwarf Mudskippers.
The entire 125-acre zoo will remain open throughout the autumn as normal.
Other new arrivals are Indian Dwarf Mudskippers.
Nice addition at this rate these will be coming the common species of Mudskipper in the UK,as they are already at Blue Planet and Bristol Zoo,sure I have forgotten somewhere as well!
Birds Rob, birds! Hard to imagine.A new aviary? Did I read that correctly?![]()
Birds Rob, birds! Hard to imagine.
I've just been invited to a members' event involving a sorcerer who has stolen the special powers of the nocturnal animals, aerialists (aren't they people who work for Sky) and acrobats.
Oh dear.
Oh very dear ...

a large state-of-the-art walkthrough bird aviary
I appreciate that I am being very pedantic here, but the creeping use of this tautology really irritates me: an aviary is a cage for birds, so why "bird aviary"? Unnecessary, Chester Zoo PR Department, unnecessary!
I really don't know what you're on, but I think I might like some.![]()
I wonder if the push for more birds in Islands will (fingers crossed) involve or lead to the return of BOPs.
You'll need to contact the marketing bods at the zoo - or perhaps check the grounds for "interesting" mushrooms.
