I will write a review about the zoo soon but probably not today. Here are a few highlights:
-Saw the invert expansion in Monsoon. Some very nice species there
-Visited the bird hide for the first time and I saw a few brilliant bird species.
-Saw the cloud rats
-FINALLY SAW THE PUDU!!! I have never seen them once before.
-Fruit Bat Forest is open again.
-Saw the Monserrat Tarantulas
-Saw the Mouse Deer in the Tropical Realm
-Visited the new rainbow aviaries for the first time. Really nice aviaries
-Saw a HUGE Sterlet in the Sunken Garden.
-There were some cheeky mice that had found their way into the Aye-Aye enclosure
-The Java Sparrows have been removed from the Komodo Dragon exhibit due to Jantan finding one of them rather tasty.
- The map has been updated and now has the new Islands animals in it
- Couldn't find the Binturongs :(
- Tried to spot Javan Green Magpies but couldn't see any activity from the aviaries.
- Snowy Crowned Robin Chats have been moved into the Tsavo Aviary
These are just a few points but I will include more in my review.

I want to see this photo, however bad it is. Considering what's happened with gentle lemur I have my doubts it is a genuine mantella.

Saw Zuri's calf today,Kifaru is off show,Ema Elsa and Gabe are together and Magadi was on his own.

There was only one false gharial in Monsoon forest today,Don't know what happened

I'm not sure whether or not this is true since it came from a zoo volunteer but the zoo is hoping to develop a Madagascar themed area with some more Lemur species.Not sure what to think of this though.

Doubt it re a jaguar pregnancy, last I heard Chester has been put on hold for breeding.

Are you sure? Magadi was offshow to breed with Malindi I believe. Kifaru definitely wasn't in the lone rhino house?

They sometimes hide at the bottom of the pool under the window so you can't actually see them. There are likely still two.

I believe this has been mentioned before on here and is no secret.
 
Seems to be conflicting posts about the Jaguars. I was told on site by a regular visitor over winter that they were given the all clear to breed and am sure the TV series suggested t too. Here's Hoping.

I'm not to sure about the rhinos that were out except for Ema Elsa,Gabe,Zuri and her calf.There was rhino that was off show that could be viewed near the car park and one near the wetland aviary.Not 100% sure about it though.
 
Any idea which rhinos i will see tomorrow or are they rotated on a daily basis ? When I went back in Jan/Feb, Ema Elsa & Gabe were in the rhino house everybody else were off show. Be nice to see some of them out if possible. Hope to explore the islands properly first thing & see the tigers, fingers x

I'm quite sure they're not rotated on a daily basis, just once every couple of months for breeding purposes (e.g Zuri moving off-show to breed with Kifaru II)
It should be as follows:
Tsavo Roundhouse: Kitani,Hazina(Left sign of house) Zuri,Ike (Right side of house)
Off-show House: Embu,Malindi,Magadi
Old rhino house: Ema Elsa and Gabe
Lone house: Kifaru II

When I heard it was on hold it was early in the year, things might have changed since. Still don't think Goshi is pregnant.

Agreed. I, and a lot of other zoochatters, won't believe it till we see it.
 
One more thing that I have forgotten to mention is that the blind cave fish are now gone in both Fruit Bat Forest and the Aquarium.
 
Blue legged Mantella photo is now uploaded,the rest of my photos are now downloaded so I will upload them as well.
 
Just to clarify for those who haven't seen the photo, the name of Mythical Mantella stands. A similar mistake to gentle lemur was made!
