Whilst on the topic of Bornean Orangutans, Part of the first netted enclosure (by entrance) is being turned to an indoor enclosure for Tuan. The rest will be his outside enclosure. A stair way has been so keepers can feed him from above in his new indoor enclosure.

Ok so from my visit yesterday we passed the new aviaries near the chimps and even though they look done I saw no birds and heard no birds so I'm unsure if they are there yet! About the sloth outdoor enclosure, it looks pretty complete and I think that the sloths may be going out soon!

They are definitely in there, myself and MagpieGoose saw both species of tragopan, the pheasant, the grosbeak and both species of laughingthrush and the blackbird in there, only missed the partridge and the liocichla on Saturday. Likewise on Sunday I saw the grosbeak, Cabot's tragopan and the blue-crowned laughingthrush.

I'd be curious to see this list of yours!!
My off-show area list currently consists of the following exhibits:
Babirusa and okapi behind the giraffe house.
Narrow-striped mongoose exhibit behind the Fruit Bat Forest, visible through a wooden gate.
Scottish Wild Cats between old condor aviary and butterfly journey (you can only see the roof of it from elephant bridge).
Rare parrot breeding centre off-show aviaries visible from old sun bear viewing platform (aviaries for macaws and conures). It's also visible from the onager stallion paddock area.
Behind the jaguars is the tamarin off-show enclosure.
And finally we have got the magpie aviaries near the otter enclosure! ;)

That is all that I have got on my list at the moment. I am sure that there are still a few out there waiting to make their way into my list!

Excellent news. Willie has proved himself and Sarikei has been a very good mother in the past. Incidentally it will be interesting to see if she does the same with this baby that she did with Iznee: for extra security when he small, if she was moving around she held his hand in her mouth.

This was taken on the website today an it appears that she is indeed moving around holding the baby's hand in her mouth.

- Two veeeeery pregnant giraffes from the look of things!! Orla and Dagma I think.

Only one veeeeery pregnant giraffe now, assuming you counted correctly in the first place; Helly and myself watched a giraffe calf being born this afternoon at Chester :P I haven't a clue which giraffe was the one popping, however, as I don't know how to recognise most of the individual giraffes!

1. Yellow-faced myna seems to have disappeared yeah, signage gone in Tropical Realm and not in Monsoon Forest of course

Yellow-faced Myna is still present within the Tropical Realm *and* is still signposted.

Exciting about the giraffe!!

Yes I realised the myna was still there the day after I posted, when I saw it interacting with the free flying birds. The sign must have been put back since yesterday then since I didn't see it!!

Just to clarify is this Sarikei's 2nd youngster after Iznee ? Website states this is her 3rd ? Is this a misprint ? Fantastic news either way fingers crossed Leia is pregnant as well.
Another trip due soon after Easter I reckon

No this is her 3rd after Matu and Iznee

From the sounds of things Chester is in the middle of one! Baby orangutan, baby giraffes x3 (including the one yet to be born), baby elephants x2...it's all go!

And the mouse deer! And the three-striped box turtle! And the tuataras again! And the prevost's squirrels! And the list goes on!
