I think that the tree-kangaroo is most likely to go into islands but it would be nice if they made a new enclosure for it right where the old beaver/coati island was. It just feels so empty there now.

Oh, what species would this aviary house? broad-nosed gentle lemurs? :p

Do I get to choose? Or is it in the small print that I have raise the money first?
Actually, if the Nissen hut were to vanish suddenly, I would just give the bush dogs a few extra square metres, with a nice viewing point for the public as the bush dogs are very popular with the visitors.

Is the tree kangaroo the same elderly female originally at London? Sad to hear she'd moved to Chester without ever having been on show properly, if that is the case!

Nope, this is a different female. The one at ZSL should still be there off-show :)

We have the answer now, but thanks for asking, I'd been wondering this too!
Glad to find out there's still one at London! Still think visitors should be allowed to see it when classroom isn't in use....

Another series of secret life of the zoo is already being worked on.

Rhino house all fitted out with cameras and microphones, potential birth imminent?

New play zone near lions not far off, a lot more planting than I expected and little play equipment currently.

Had a visit today and here are a couple of recent developments:
-The Bongo have moved into the old Oryx enclosure, leaving there old enclosure empty.
-The Giant Anteater has now been given access to the Capybara enclosure, some of the younger Capybara have been moved into the Tapir enclosure.
-The part of the Dart Frog vivs which had the Amazon Tree Boa is now being refurbished. The area behind that viv is still awaiting a new animal in it. The old Parsons Chameleon exhibit is also still being refurbished.
-The Tsavo aviary is open again
-There has been a reshuffle where the rhinos are kept; The small house has Kifaru II in, Ema Elsa and Gabe are now in the old Rhino house, Zuri and Kitani are in the Tsavo roundhouse, Magadi,Embu and Malindi are now kept in the off-show house.
-The species in the new Invert areas in the Monsoon Forest are Walking Stick Insect, Sulawesi Stick Insect, Orchid Mantis,Touch Me Not Stick Insect, Malaysian Jungle Nymph, Malaysian Dead-Leaf Mantis,Giant Walking Leaf, Rhinoceros Beetle (No idea what type) and Bloody Mary Shrimp.
-The fossil dig area has now gone and the mesh fence for the Lions next to the courtyard is blocked up, making viewing possible from only by Oakfield Manor and the new PLAY! area.
-Some telegraph poles have been added to outdoor Sloth enclosure and is starting look more ready for it inhabitants.
The work on the new Islands area is looking great; The new aviary is netted over and mock rock is being added, The Tapir pool is coming along nice as well and poles have been added to the Sun Bear/Binturong enclosure, my jaw dropped when I saw the height of them!
-And finally, a couple of weeks ago young adult male Iznee who was born at the zoo in 2009 passed away.
