Q: What do you call a cow with no legs?Unless you count a mouth as a leg than none!
I think Chester could do with a couple more new additions to it's reptile collection particularly venomous snakes as to my knowledge only the Gaboon viper,White lipped tree viper, tentacled snake and eyelash vipers which are off show.I think they could get king cobras in Monsoon forest, black or green mambas in either the tropical realm or secret world of the okapi and maybe Russell's or saw scaled vipers in dragons in danger.
I think they have more offshow....
That's unfortunate, I think there should be a bit of variety to the venomous snakes.Don't bet on it the count down to Chester having NO front Fang Venomous has started!!!!

I also think there should be more variety with the crocodilians as well.Black caiman would be an interesting attraction as there is only one place in the UK that holds themNot the only one on that, hopefully I am wrong but I get the feeling that I might not be!

One thing that is annoying about Chester, too many species are off show which is both a good and bad thing.Well we have a very good collection of Turtles,Tortoises and small Lizards!!Just that most of them are off show!!
Holding some specimens off-show is quite understandable in many circumstances. Holding species off-show is inevitable in the short term, but it should only happen in the long term for very particular reasons (eg risk of disease, need for specialised housing etc). I think that in general zoos should not acquire animals if there is no prospect of putting the species on display eventually. One thing that is annoying about Chester, too many species are off show which is both a good and bad thing.
For those interested, my printed copy of the annual report arrived today (without CD-ROMs or a stock-list). It doesn't appear to be on-line yet, or at least I couldn't find it.
The AGM is 27th June.
