I could not imagine Chester going out of them as integral to their Philippines program. Its only temporary they will be back!
A couple of quick points: the zoo have bred the pygmy marmoset and they're rearing two young. A number of bird species have moved to the new aviary in Islands. These include Javan green magpie that have gone into an annexed aviary that is disappointingly small by all accounts. No other animals have moved, so the opening date remains unknown (or not divulged).
The aviary isn't technically on show yet it's in the area being finished currently.Sounds like I just missed seeing this species then.Oh well.
Quick question have any other bird species moved to the new Europe on the edge or is it still just the vulture pair there.
I wonder when the others will move I imagine it might take a while for the bald ibis to move as this is currently the time when they have chicks and obviously babies are harder to move.As of yesterday - just the Vulture's
I'd say you forgot the blue legged mantellas, but they are quite elusive. One other thing I would like to say is that it is so good to see that so many off-show species coming on-show now. We have seen it in the reptiles such as spiky-tailed iguanas, ploughshare tortoises, boelen's pythons, emerald skinks, roti island snake-necked turtles, etc; bird species such as the green magpies, tragopans, and many of the pheasant species; amphibians such as the lake patzcuaro salamanders, borneo eared frogs, etc; fish such as the Palifina bettas and Pinstripe Dambas, as well as many more in the Aquarium and Monsoon Forest; and invertebrates such as the emerald cockroach wasps, and many of the phasmid species. I am sure that there are still more to go on-show. I have my fingers crossed for the tree-kangaroo and the red-headed ratsnakes to be making an appearance soon.![]()
The blue-legged mantellas went "on-show" a couple of years ago actually.I'd say you forgot the blue legged mantellas, but they are quite elusive.
I wouldn't call September 2016 a couple of years.The blue-legged mantellas went "on-show" a couple of years ago actually.
Don't ask me about the ratsnakes, but I'm pretty sure it's already been established that the tree kangaroo will eventually be in Islands.I have my fingers crossed for the tree-kangaroo and the red-headed ratsnakes to be making an appearance soon.![]()
The blue-legged mantellas' label went "on-show" a couple of years ago actually.
I wouldn't either since they (supposedly) went on-show in 2015I wouldn't call September 2016 a couple of years.
