Visited Today:

-Seen the baby Spider Monkey, Cute and staying on to mum.

-Construction is going on in the Papua section of Islands, I'm guessing this is for the Pademelons and Tree Kangaroo.

-Toni was attempting to mate with Milli and they started fighting which gathered a huge crowd. Toni was definitley trying to mount her. Also I didn't see the Binturongs unfortunatley so I'm not sure if they are on show or not as I have seen them before.

-This might have just been me being ignorant but the vivarium holding the Pitcher Plants just before the Sulawesi Macaques in the Monsoon Forest now holds a variety of Reptiles, Amphibians and some Fish. I don't remember the fish or the frog but there was a lizard which was something 'Dragon' and some kind of Philippine Skink.

-The Southern part of the Philippine Spotted Deer enclosure's sign on Bat's Bridge has been removed and says that it is empty and a new arrival will be coming. I don't know if this is more of the species or a new species.

-Seen the Ecuadorian Amazon Parrots for the first time and got a bit overly excited. I really wish more of the Breeding Centre was on show.

-Seen the baby White-Faced Saki and it is very cute. It was the only thing I managed to see in the canal island houses and nothing was on the islands (they are so hard to spot!).

-Species signs have been added in Butterfly Journey, I don't know how long they have been there for.

If you have any questions I might be able to answer but I didn't go around the whole zoo as I visited just for a few hours today.

Have you any photos of the babies amazons or construction, also for info on the species in those vivs see previous threads across the year as they have changed a little bit over time.

I have a photo of the sakis and amazons but they aren't that great (my camera is a bit old). I will probably upload all my pics from today though.

you saw the site of the pademelon and tree kangaroo exhibit in Islands.

Binturongs are on show, but hard to see.

the dragon was probably Hypsilurus magna. The other lizard you mention is Philippine Tree skink.

I think the sign saying coming soon on the bat bridge is just a sign with coming soon on
it.

Butterfly labels have been there about 18 months I'd guess.

I’m visiting the zoo on Wednesday, who think I should write a review and post some picture updates

We visited today, sloths were showing signs of mating, both sun bears were outside in the left hand enclosure, we got a brief glimpse of kinky tail, still off show behind the 3 boys

Something else I meant to mention from our visit - one of the zebra had a large 'slash' type injury on its flank.
