That's both brilliant and quite shocking. :D

From a Google+ reply to me:

"Spirit of the Jaguar reflected the theme of the old exhibit - the ancient beliefs of the Arara tribes and their spiritual relationship with the jaguar. The new theme focuses on cattle ranching, human/wildlife conflict and the conservation measures being deployed to mitigate against it."

Perhaps that'll inspire further.

And possibly get a sponsorship deal with McDonald's....;)

I'd definitely go for "Onca 'pon a time", definitely one for the zoo geeks though... :p

And the Portuguese! :D

I aim to please!

'Jaguar vs. Burger'

Or just:

'JAG vs. COW'

Or they could go the movie way:

'Spirit of the Jaguar 2: Ranches of Death'

'The Jaguars Fight Back'

Hmmm... not quite the right tone, somehow.

I have just looked at the new spirit of the Jaguar images. It lookes as though there is a barrier now well away from the old viewing windows.i hope they have got more close up viewing.

That was discussed on Chester's Facebook page last night. The viewing windows into Pele's old area are still going to be accessaible to visitors (confirmed by Chester themselves)

From the slightly more permanent structures pictured in the artists impression (columns, windows) that area pictured looks to me to be the area immediately to your right after entry in to the Jaguar house... Then the door pictured on the left of the artists impression would then be the entrance to the area viewing the enclosure previously occupied by Pele.

I agree Kaytronika, basically between the 2 external doors. Anyone know whats been getting done between the 2 doors outside?

No idea about the inside, but they're busy replacing the tidy metal fence around waterfall side outdoor viewing with a wonky wooden one that'll only last five minutes... What a complete waste of money.

I really hope this "crawl in" viewing dome is going to be accessible to all, not just small children.

If the dome is large enough to allow SMR to crawl in, small children could walk in without any danger of banging their heads :)

exactly - the world can be a cruel and harsh place, the sooner they grasp that and learn to get over it the better for mankind as a whole I think!!
