There are several babirusas in the zoo there is the main enclosure in islands which is just on the way out of Islands there is also one mixed with the otters by the exit realm of the red ape there is some in the former warty pig enclosure on cheetah Bridge and also one on the former anoa island viewable from the cheetah bridge and the old water's station near the former bushdog paddock and also some behind the giraffe house

With the anoas there main enclosure is in islands by the minado Street kitchen and there is currently one in the former malayan tapir/warthog side of the cattle house

And with the lowland tapirs they are next the bats next door to the spectacled bear and opposite the capybara and anteater paddock

Does anyone know what happened to the last remaining scimitar horned oryx did they die or did they get exported because I remember at the start of 2016 there was a small herd of 7 animals but when I went at the end of 2016 there was just 2

They were exported but not sure to where. Thee last record of calves online was back in 2009, when they welcomed three.

Ok thanks also does anyone know if the zebras are still breeding because Florence and nadine haven't had foals since 2016 have they brought in a new stallion since mac the last stallion left for Woburn in 2017

I don't really know what is going on at Chester so it is possibly irresponsible for me to reply but from what happened on SLOTZ and everything I would assume they will not welcome a new stallion, and probably just stick with the little non breeding family they have at the moment. Possibly also stability of the herd in mind while preparing for the Grasslands development.

Yes, they haven't welcomed a stallion since Mac's departure to Wodburn. Chester will most likely end up retaining their small herd of females at least until the distant future. Once the Grasslands precinct opens, hopefully they'll move back into breeding them.

The Grevy's zebra studbook (available online) states they received a male from Chessington in October 2020.

As of April 2021 Chester had the following Grevy's Zebra's:

1.0 Tajiri (2014)
0.1 Nadine (2005)
0.1 Florence (2008)
0.1 Okoth (2013)
0.1 Merida (2014)

Tajiri arrived in October 2020, and so it's likely future breeding will occur.

I should have mentioned that the Grevy's Zebra Studbook is administered by Marwell Zoo and is available on line from Marwell's website. (So is the Hartmann's Mountain Zebra Studbook too.)

Or, you can just as easily search up Grevy's Zebra studbook and its the first website listed.

Does anyone know what’s in the old serval, bush dog and anteaters enclosures (if anything) also we’re do the pudu and on show parrots live ???

On my last visit, there were Pademelon's in the old Serval enclosure.

The last animal in the old Bush Dog enclosure was a female Cheetah but I believe it has been empty since then.

The old Anteater and cat enclosures are now offshow so I have no idea if anything is in there.

The Pudu live in an enclosure adjacent to the Jaguar north enclosure but you have to enter a coffee shop to see the Pudu.

Last time I went a few weeks ago the old bushdog enclosure was empty because adaze the last female cheetah lived in there until she passed away last summer there is a second pair of dusky padmelons in the old serval enclosure Currently. the old bear pits/kangaroo/yellow mongoose and anteater enclosure is permanently off display now

The pudu exhibit is behind the jaguar coffee house which is only viewable from the the window in the coffee house because the old male who lived with the anteaters in the round and long enclosure by the old entrance passed away in 2019

And the parrots that are on show are the blue and gold macaws who live with the elegant crested tinamous next door to the currasow enclosure also the great green macaws are right by the exit of tropical Realm in the old hyacinth macaw exhibit not sure if they're still in the zoo and also the Ecuadorian amazon's are in the rare parrot breeding centre and the ones offshow are behind the former banteng and bongo paddock currently occupied by the 'offshow' blesbok

They are blue-throated macaws with the tinamous Hari.

Blue-crowned Hanging Parrots are in Realm of the Red Ape and Monsoon Forest.

Purple-naped Lories are behind the Bali aviary.

It is a shame that so many of the parrots are not on show. The last time I attended an adopter's day at the zoo one of the parrot keepers told me the zoo wanted to acquire Iris Lorikeets, and a long term plan was to house Red-vented cockatoos and Yellow-backed lories in Islands.

These are Blue-throated Macaws. Off the top of my head there are also Blue-crowned Hanging Parrots in Realm of the Red Ape and Purple-naped Lory in the small aviary behind the Bali Bird Temple in Islands, as well as the Great Green Macaws and Ecuadorian Amazons.
