Yeah I’ve heard members of the public say that aswell.

To defend some of them, you have to remember that some visitors to the zoo may have never seen the animals before and if only one ID, may lead to confusion.

That's a pretty understandable confusion for an average zoo visitor. To be honest, i've heard far worse.

I'm visiting this weekend with an elderly relative who can't walk very well. The weather forecast isn't great so I don't think we'll be sitting outside, does anyone know if any of the indoor viewing areas have any benches for visitors to use? Obviously the cafes have seating, we were just wondering about everywhere else. It has been a while since we visited. Thank you :)

I am not sure if the Jaguar building still has that bench inside. I do remember sitting in there once having my lunch and watching the Sloths.

I honestly can't think of any other animal building with seating inside but there is the coffee shop to watch the Pudu.

Is the Tropical Realm open now?

Aren't there seats in the indoor Sun Bear area?

I've heard the duikers called baby okapi numerous times. I've heard the hyrax called otters and bear cubs.

I remember we sat in the Sun Bear area once a few years Rob waiting for the Binturongs to show but I noticed those seats were not there on our last visit.

Does anyone know if the cattle house has reopened yet because I would if thought it would be back open now The bats are open again

It wasn't open last Monday. I thought I read a while back that it is unlikely to reopen for some reason, but I can't find the post.

I presume the zoo has no plans to reopen that building, it would have been reopened by now if they did, could be wrong though

I visited the zoo yesterday, unfortunately only got 3 hours there (remind me not to go on a day trip with that company again!) so only went around the lower half of the zoo.

- Chimpanzees were active, some squabbling but I guess with chimps that is to be expected.
-Bornean Orangutans were the opposite. One asleep under a blanket (either Willie or Martha), Leia was lying down, Sarikei was asleep on the other side of the enclosure with Tombol. On my second visit around one of the females, I assume Martha as no baby in sight, was outside eating leaves from some branches.
-One Fossa was asleep outdoors, the other was quite active in the indoor area. It is the first time I've seen one moving so was nice to see.
-All 3 lions were asleep on the rocks outside.
-There is a Sun Bear in the other side of the Spirit of the Jaguar enclosure, anyone know which one?
-I didn't see Napo (jaguar), but I didn't stay long and didn't get time for a second visit.
-Lemurs: only saw Ring-Tailed on the island, and again in the walkthrough. We did see the Sifakas in a tree in their outdoor enclosure; a new species for us.
-There was a baby spider monkey in the monkey house, not sure how old.

the sun bear will be kyra which is Millie and Toni’s cub and I think the baby spider monkey was born at the start of the year but not sure. Also did you see Tina the chimp ???

I'm not sure if I saw Tina, there are a few of the chimps that I cannot recognise. I didn't see Boris at all though which is unusual as I usually see him sitting in the sun.

Thank you, I thought it would be a young one. I guess she is due to move on soon.
