Chester Zoo Chester Zoo Discussion and Questions 2024

Apparently three of the older male chimps (Boris, Friday and Nicky) are now spending time away from the main troop - can anyone confirm this?
 
So Boris and one of either Nicky or Friday (can’t remember which) were being picked on to a dangerous level. The other wasn’t at the time but was moved with other 2 as a precautionary measure. The 3 boys have 2/3 bedrooms at the back of the house and a small outdoor (offshow) cage behind where the RRH are. They get access to the main island on a Monday afternoon.

I assume with the transfer out of Boris, Nicky and Friday temp or not temp and the very fact male Dylan no longer is alpha male, what is the male power base now?

It is with the younger males, Carlos (2005) and Eric (2003) who are the only prime aged males in the troop. Males, Wilson (1968) and Dylan (1987) are presumably still in the main troop - but I wonder whether Wilson is in fact still alive considering his age and him not being separated with the other three older males.

Wilson is certainly not at Chester anymore, I can’t confirm that he’s died but i think it would be highly likely. Dylan remains in the main group.

Apart from changes at the all-male top, what other changes have taken place in the last few years? Are all the females (FF Rosie, Halfpenny, Farthing, Mandy, Sally, Layla, Alice, Zee Zee, Lizzy, Chrissie, Patti, Donna, Tina, Vila) and the youngsters born recently at Chester still there?

I don’t believe Donna, Tina, Lizzy or Halfpenny are at the zoo anymore. The rest are still there.
 
I was at Chester today and I only saw the two Sifakas ‘Elliot’ and ’Beatrice’. I believe they had an offspring born late last year or earlier this year. Does anyone know if it’s still at the zoo or did it pass away?

Last time I went was April, and the little one was there then.
 
I was discussing Bush Dogs with a friend last week ans I can't remember seeing them at Chester this year. Does anyone know where are currently housed?
 
Does anyone know whether gaston the banteng bull is still around because the last few times I've been I've only seen the cows out
