Looks like Bird Flu has returned maybe.

Banham posted a few days ago that bird flu was keeping their Geese off show

They had signs outside Tropical House mentioning bird flu & mats on the way in. I also noticed flamingos haven’t been outside when I’ve visited this week.

I'm no expert but following on from last years bird flu precautions, are DEFRA being over-cautious? We've had bird flu before and no one batted an eye.

And why no ban in Scotland. Are the infected birds going to stop at the border?

I spoke to one keeper in the tropical realm yesterday and she said they are currently offshow, but currently remain at the Zoo.

She didn't state any reasons why and didn't know if they were moving on or not.

Does anyone know if the zoo still has the trio of Lesser Kudu, next to the Roan Antelope? I haven't seen them in a while although do find them elusive! They're also missing from the website

The species left the collection for Magdeburg in July 2017, according to zootierliste. There were several posts in one of the 2017 news threads.

Apologies I must have missed it! Sad to see them go as I always found them so lovely to watch (When they were out mind!)

Magdeburg has already reared a calf which is more than Chester did.
