Seems logical I can’t think of much else in terms of birds to add to islands, I just pray they’re is no damn java sparrows in thereSince I suppose it's within the Panay zone, my guess would be an aviary for the Visayan hornbills

Oh yes I’m sure Rob said last year they would be coming on show at some point in islands. Doubt if anything it’ll be a spotted deer enclosure, though they are also stated to move over at some point.Aren't the Philippine cockatoos that are off-show just as appropriate? And since there is a hornbill enclosure in Islands this might add even more variety?
They are, no idea how I managed to forget about them! Haven't they even been added to the map on the website in Islands?Aren't the Philippine cockatoos that are off-show just as appropriate? And since there is a hornbill enclosure in Islands this might add even more variety?

Just a quick note on this;Seems logical I can’t think of much else in terms of birds to add to islands, I just pray they’re is no damn java sparrows in there
Oh yes! However considering islands has three aviaries already, four if you count the hornbills, I would hope that some of these species go into the existing aviaries, monsoon Forrest to me still needs some more species flying about to get the atmosphere up a bit like it is in tropical realm with the multitude of birds flying around in there.Just a quick note on this;
If you can't think of many other bird species that could be added to islands, you're not being imaginative enoughA couple of the zoo's owl species could fit the remit, as could the off-show lories, white winged ducks, great argus, various birds currently in the Tropical Realm and RotRA, not to mention the plethora of species the zoo could bring in- oh, to have Birds of Paradise back at Chester....
Zoochatters, I'm happy to confirm that the new enclosure is for 'Asian Squirrels', I presume the Prevost's Squirrels?Looks like a bird or Small mammal enclosing going in the entrance to islands. See picture in the gallery.
Ooo interesting, the current prevost squirrel family would work in islands, but they aren’t from the Philippines but sumatra, which has no space for new species.Zoochatters, I'm happy to confirm that the new enclosure is for 'Asian Squirrels', I presume the Prevost's Squirrels?
(Anyone remember the 'Malayan Squirrels' housed in the Small Mammal House?)
Hi, It’s K’Tusha who is pregnant and I am not 100% but believe that Dicky is the father (I may be wrong) and yes from what I hear Usala is leaving.Which okapi is pregnant Stuma or K'Tusha? Also is dad Stomp or Dicky? Im guessing Usala is the one going
I'm American but I look at the okapi management site all the time & they havent been up to date since july 2015
Sorry.... my 'source' just told me "Asian Squirrels", if not the Prevost's, then maybe a new species to the collection? I'll try to find out.Ooo interesting, the current prevost squirrel family would work in islands, but they aren’t from the Philippines but sumatra, which has no space for new species.
