Chester Zoo Game

Scottish Wildcat (Felis silvestris grampia) or Narrow-Striped Vontsira (Mungotictis decemlineata decemlineata)?

Just realized this "riddle" doesn't even specify that it's an animal and thus it could possibly be an endangered plant!;)

Is there a ztl for plants?:p:D

~Thylo:cool:

that would be a btl.

Chester does publish an annual inventory of endangered plants.

My hint requires having to know a little history on the zoo:

1967
1971
1973
1991
1993
1994
1997
1998
2008
2009
2012
2013
2015

I agree: black rhinoceros :p

(Specifically, "breeding record of eastern black rhinoceros at Chester")

A sad story: Endangered. That's my riddle.

The original 'question/riddle' is above, lets break it down.

Endangered, well unfortunately too many animals are endangered, but the black rhino ticks the box here.

A sad story, no one likes bad news and recently Chester announced the death of a young black rhino calf.

further down the post you said its a small animal. Chester keeps two rhino species and the black rhinos are smaller than the other species (Indian), so again we can look no further than black rhino.

I can only conclude one answer...

is it my go now?

you're over-thinking it. The riddle was an anagram. Re-arrange the letters, take some out, then add in b, and l, and c, k, h and i. Spells "black rhino".

you know what, I didn't actually look at it that way until now. I can't fault the logic here either.
an anagram, a riddle and an endangered species, all point to the same answer, genius, absolute genius.

err.. Black Rhino?

Indeed, now excuse me I must go and read the entire Encyclopedia of Plankton species of the World upside down;)
