Chester Zoo Game

Is it a Foersch's fire barb? If you're not careful, you could get spiked from the barb or burnt by the fire.

I think a chameleon forest dragon might be quite dangerous, as it could incinerate you before you had spotted it.

how about Sunbittern: sun for the burning part of the riddle, and "once bittern twice shy" for the careful part of the riddle. ;)

Not a forest dragon, or any dragon; and Sun Bear and Sunbittern are both wrong. The danger it poses is more what it has been said to cause, than what it can cause.

Not a Gaboon viper.

I'm wondering how clear my last post was, and to make this a little easier I'll add this: the species, although I suspect it could cause harm (as the majority probably could with a bit of imagination ;)), is unlikely to cause harm and if it did it would probably be nothing severe.

The Aye-aye, perhaps? There are some particularly grim Fady associated with it (and it's long spooky finger) in Madagascar.

Giant Millipede because they can release a burning liquid as a defence. I don't know if Chester has these, just guessing again.

I'd say Cassowary, but we all know the damage they can do.So I'm thinking it could possibly be a Montserrat Oriole due to it's bright colours which could deter a predator.

the best I can come up with currently is flamingo, through its association with the phoenix.

oh, Red-billed Chough, associated with being a fire-starter. Thanks Wikipedia.
