It is a famous literary pirate.

The guess a bit earlier of Java Sparrow being similar to Jack Sparrow is the right line of thought (although the pirate in question is not Jack Sparrow).

My favourite fictional pirate, after Long John Silver of course, was dear old Captain Pugwash - the only pirate to share his name with a organisation of scientists campaigning for arms control. If I remember correctly his ship was called the Black Pig, which fits a Visayan warty boar pretty well.
