Chester Zoo Game

People are getting confused.

The zoo still has Sumatran tigers, 0.2 in the Jaguar house, outside enclosure by coffee shop, and 3.2 in the tiger enclosure. None have been moved to Islands.

The female babirusa and her baby are still in the enclosure by RORA with the otters.

Swampy did not say the zoo did not have tigers, Swampy said the zoo has the species (and has done so for a while), but it is not on Zootierlist.

I was thinking of Balabac chevrotain but that is on zootierlist. Back to the drawing board.

Sorry for causing that confusion, i'll try to be less ambiguous in future.

Here's a clue: Using all the letters in this species's binomial name, you can form 2 middle eastern countries and a large Australian bird. :D

I don't understand it.

I think people need a new clue.

My guess is red-billed blue magpie but that is on Zootierlist. Neoighbours (bush dogs) have moved.

My guess is Red Lechwe, although I apologise if they don't keep this species any longer as I haven't visited for a while.

According to zootierliste they don't and never have done and I knew they did not that long ago so I decided to guess :p

Like most lechwe in Europe, they were Kafue Lechwe, not 'proper' Red Lechwe, so are listed under that name.

Here's another clue then:
this species is the second largest mainland species in it's family.

Manouria emys! I was trying to make the anagram work earlier but kept getting stuck because I was fixated on Iran. (Oman - Syria - Emu?)

Oh, cripes, I forgot that bit!

OK - this is either very easy or very hard:

A frugivore, I presume.

Chester held Kafue Lechwe between 1959-2012 , they are listed on Zootierlist as Kafue Lechwe, which is why you can't find any reference to Red Lechwe.

That is a hard one.

Comoro Islands Flying Fox,

or Livingston's Fruit Bat (Pteropus livingstoni).

(I should add I haven't read the whole thread so I may be duplicating a species - if so, well, we'll soon find out!)
