Indeed it is! This is one of the species which was being hunted for it's long feathers, and the protest movement against this hunting lead to the formation of what would become the RSPB.
Egret plumes (aigrettes) and 'grebe fur' were very much overexploited by the feather trade.

an invisible Giant Panda. I'm pretty sure Chester has them... you just can't see them.

But if you could see them, you wouldn't see anything more. Ergo you are wrong. Chester has a no giant panda policy, which includes invisible pandas as far as I am aware.
