Updated map suggests Islands tree kangaroo exhibit will be open for summer and Madagascar exhibits from autumn.

So yet another late opening for a Chester exhibit then, tree kangaroos was supposed to have opened in the spring.

Z Magazine has confirmed that the trio of Galapagos Giant Tortoises have been transferred to Crocodiles of the World. Nice to see this info appear in print!

Also the same edition states that 'Secret Life of the Zoo' will be returning after Easter on a date to be confirmed to finish off the current series, whilst a fifth series has already been commissioned. This will be 16 episodes once again, and is expected to start later in the year.

No problem! I was pleasantly surprised to find such information as the departure of a species could be seen as 'negative', and negative developments seem to be largely ignored by Chester Zoo's official news coverage. But I like honesty, and its good to know where animals have been moved to in case anyone actually wants to visit them in their new home.

Also says in Z that the area will be redeveloped for a new species I wonder what it will be.

The plans for the Lion enclosure is on the planning website for the council, looks are very large size, also the zoo is placing new perimeter fence around A much large area around the lions for future developments.

The question is, is they 'Chameleon Forest Dragon' (Gonocephalus chamaeleontinus) or 'Gariau Forest Dragon' (Hypsilurus magnus) hatchlings? I suspect G.chamaeleontinus, based on the picture (though IDing very young agamids can be a nightmare!)
