Chester Zoo Chester Zoo News 2021

Only one observation yesterday - Black Lemurs have moved to one of the primate cages opposite the Cheetahs, most recently occupied by Ring-Tailed Lemurs (and, until early this year, Black Howler Monkeys). There is no signage on the usual Black Lemur enclosure opposite the Fossa, and I couldn’t see any inhabitants inside or outside.

Getting ready for sifaka perhaps?

WOW - they're beautiful!!! I always assumed they'd be getting the same species as other collections had (Crowned?) but apparently not... which has made a very exciting development even more exciting!!

....and they are only the first of a few places which are recieving the species over the coming year or so, all going well; not all are public record, but one which *is* already openly acknowledged is Tierpark Berlin.

WOW! I’m going to go up this summer to see them. WOW! This is fantastic!

According to the World Zoo News FB site, Chester's are the first of four pairs coming to European Zoos.
