Had a really good visit today
Here's a few notes from today
Napo seems to be doing OK on his own
Saw the dik dik for the first time in years
The 2 female 'offshow' blesbok were very close to the fence
The warthogs are now onshow in the bongo paddock while the bongo are offshow
A while ago I also saw soemthing that looked like pelicans in that enclosure. Not sure what I saw but maybe the zoo has pelicans again. I could never understand why the Dalmatian Pelicans left the zoo, it was only a year (I think), earlier that the zoo achieved the first U.K. breeding, which amazingly has not been publicised.
They looked like great white pelicans or Dalmatians to meHari I meant the last place they were kept, where the warthogs now are. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment.

If there are warthogs in the former bongo enclosure, why are there no bongos in the former bongo enclosure?
A lot pf species are currently offshow. A few I can think of are, tamandua and naked mole rats, (both to go onshow this year), narrow-striped mongoose, Grandidier's mongoose, secretary bird, white-backed and white-headed vulture, Mitchell's, Mount Apo and Forsten's lorikeet, yellow-backed lory, Red-vented Cockatoo, Pronk's day gecko, Ibity ground gecko, Moellendorff's ratsnake, Bermuda skink, Fernand's skink, Natalia's pricklenape and pancake tortoise.
Plus a lot of the birds in the Tropical House and the walk-through aviaries. Also lots of fish species and invertebrate species.
Hopefully they'll be on show soon and if they will be the first small cat species to be on show since the serval left the zoo and before anyone says anything the only reason I'm not including the pallas cats are because they didn't last long also why did the serval leave and where in the zoo would be suitable for the margay because the zoo required them last year
True. Not to start an argument (or even a debate) on taxonomy, but many consider Cheetah to be classified as small cats @hari Jones.
They’re not part of the Panthera genus and are the only remaining species of the genus Acinonyx. They lack the floating hyoid bone and specially adapted larynx of Big Cats, which renders them unable to roar - which is one of the reasons for their classification.
