Oh great now I’m gonna have to figure out we’re they all are again ???

Aside from the Lemur news here's some more news from my visit today

Giraffe calf looks really well and meru was taking a lot of interest in kanzi

The scaffolding on the cattle house as been removed and the former malayan tapir , anoa and warthog area was under some work

Their is now signage up in the blesbok enclosure so people walk past their without thinking it just an empty enclosure

Saw dash the new male tiger and kasarna together

And I got bit confused when people were looking at the agouti and said I think their koalas

With the Giraffe calf their is a que to see the calf however I went through the okapi side of the house to see the calf

And work was continuing in the old bushdog enclosure

3 baby Capybara have been born and were out playing today with Mum. All very sweet! They were born last week apparently.

Stanley the baby Giraffe was very active outside today, keeper was asked by someone at the talk, if they were expecting any more Giraffe babies and they said not that they were aware of.

On a side note, does anyone know how old the young Okapi is who shares the right hand paddock with its mum.

One thing that was nice to see today, was Tree Kangaroo Kayjo, was outside high up his tree, I don't think I ever saw the previous Tree Kangaroo outside at all.

Thanks for the update @Alwaysevergreen.

The Okapi calf is named Kora and she’s eight months old (born December 2021). Her parents are Stomp and Ada.

I do not know.

A few small updates on things I noticed yesterday - apologies if any have been noted here already
  • A couple of updates in Tropical Realm - Golden Mantella are now mixed with Gold Dust Day Gecko (Pheisuma laticauda) and Whitebelly Reed Frog (Heterixalus alboguttatus). The neighbouring vivarium holds Malagasy Giant Day Gecko (Pheisuma grandis). I couldn’t remember if these were new or not…

The Day Geckos were recently mixed with the Mantellas and Reed Frogs, they arrived
'ast year,

The Giant Day Geckos arrived lasr year, they have been held at Chester in the past.

The zoo has submitted slightly altered Grassland plans to the council. Mainly changes to building dimensions.

The lovebirds are now planned to go near the crane exhibit, along with an owl aviary. Although this appears to be a later stage of construction/planning.

The 2 dikdik habitats are now joined together with a house in between them.

The plans also show mongoose in the current Aardvark enclosure.

We’re can I see the plans

Looking at the plans, I wonder what small mammal will go into the habitat attached to the new restaurant.

Also there is a possible aviary next to the hoofstock building.

Was wondering this too, unfortunately not every building has floor plans.

Some of the buildings like the vultures and mixed species house etc do have floors plans from the original grasslands plans from a couple of years ago.
