Chester Zoo Chester Zoo News 2022

Do they have the whole of the old cheetah enclosure ?
They were just in the first enclosure by the house on my visit today but the new fencing surrounds the second enclosure aswell.

If the turtles do go onshow I think they could either go in islands in the vivs near the sulawesi macaques or in dragons in danger

I have just noticed that Chester Zoo released a news piece on their website yesterday about the upcoming Heart of Africa zone, as well as mentioning the snow leopard enclosure, due to open in 2024.

I'm not sure if there's any new information there, but it does mention the animals that are currently off-display (Grevy's zebra, roan antelope, meerkat and rock hyrax) and that have moved to new enclosures (cheetahs and painted dogs).

The news article is included here:

Does anyone know if the sitatunga have been taken off show yet? And if they have where they will be moved to when the heart of Africa opens?

They have already broken through the perimeter fence into the Heart of Africa area off the roundabout to form a construction area. This will be the entrance to overnight stays eventually. Also, the last members talk was changed to an online version as the area around the lecture theatre has now been taken over by the construction site offices etc.
