thank you. Was the sifaka over thirty days old?DNS is indeed did not survive, usually indicating young that did not live past 30 days.
The guan came from the (now closed) Harewood Bird Garden.Sorry, I do not know where he came from.
okayThanks Mike, I suspected he had.
Zoofella I don't know how old the baby sifaka was.
Wouldn't be too surprising considering Kyra has left now so that frees up the outdoor area as well... Anyone know if the bush dogs have moved elsewhere in the zoo?Looks to be some construction going on in the indoor savannah section of Spirit of the Jaguar from some recent videos I've seen on Youtube. Diggers in the Bush Dog enclosure. Anyone know anymore? Are there plans to stock that side with another jaguar?

I was going to say that on my trip 2 weeks ago I saw Bush Dogs indoors and an Andean bear outside, it did have a sign outdoors that I also saw elsewhere in the zoo stating a new resident would be arriving for that enclosure (seeming to be standardised for any empty enclosure), that initially led me to believe it was empty only the day earlier. Personally though I would like to see new Jaguars for that side of the exhibit, but as of my trip 2 weeks ago both the indoors and outdoors not used by Napo were inhabited by non Jaguar residents.Wouldn't be too surprising considering Kyra has left now so that frees up the outdoor area as well... Interesting, didn't know there was an Andean Bear in there again now, must have moved there just after Kyra left... Any idea which bear it is? I'm not sure how many Chester have currently.I was going to say that on my trip 2 weeks ago I saw Bush Dogs indoors and an Andean bear outside, it did have a sign outdoors that I also saw elsewhere in the zoo stating a new resident would be arriving for that enclosure (seeming to be standardised for any empty enclosure), that initially led me to believe it was empty only the day earlier. No not sure on that sorry, this was my first visit in recent memory (5+ years). However, I saw 2 bears in the main enclosure on both days (4th and 5th April).Interesting, didn't know there was an Andean Bear in there again now, must have moved there just after Kyra left... Chester had a breeding pair and two cubs, so likely one of these cubs have moved over to this enclosure as they are over three years old now.Interesting, didn't know there was an Andean Bear in there again now, must have moved there just after Kyra left... If its not one of the cubs I have a feeling it might be bernie seeing as he had been in that enclosure before when Lima had madidi and if it is one of the cubs it would most likely be the male cubInteresting, didn't know there was an Andean Bear in there again now, must have moved there just after Kyra left... HALLELUJAH!!!
- The meerkats have gone back on display in their former exhibit
This is good to know, I've never been in any of the zoo's current walkthrough aviaries, so I'll make sure to enter each one on my upcoming visit. The Latin America, Sumatra, and Bali aviaries have reopened, with disinfectant mats on both entry & exit.
I make the current list:Seriously though, nice to hear that the meerkats are back on show, would that just leave the zebras and roan antelope now? Or are there any others that have gone off-show while Heart of Africa is being built?
I'll also add the dwarf mongoose on to your list assuming they will be housed In heart of Africa aswellI make the current list:
Rock hyrax
Aardvark (assuming they've moved off display for the meerkats, may be mistaken)
Wattled cranes
Crowned cranes
Tsavo aviary birds
Various wetland aviary waterfowl
Roan antelope
Grevy's zebra
Roan antelope
Kirk's dik-dik
Bongo
Warthogs
Sitatunga
Blesbok (not off display due to HoA, but intended to go there, and off display due to snow leopard build)
Happy to be corrected on any of these
