Given Inka has been brought in as a companion for Napo, I wouldn't expect any Male Jaguar's until Napo has passed away, which I hope wont be for a good few years yet.
Just think with that standard of facility avaiable, they would be keen to get breeding again as it has been a very long time since Chester had cubs
The jaguars have never bred successfully in SotJ.

You would hope that might be the case, but the impression from what has been said about the arrival of Inka makes it seem like this is not an option currently on the cards, but it's not too bad.
The zoo has updated the plans for the overnight lodges again, hence the delay in planning approval. Not massive changes, but removed the bridges, not using the current island boat retention pond and now only one giraffe viewing platform (i.e sticks out over the moat), which is shared by the 2 most exclusive lodges.
Also the lodge numbers are now 51, down from 63

Hello again all,
it’s been a minute but today I visited Chester for the first time in years, was a lovely visit. Main bits of news
red billed curassow have a chick, i got a small glimpse of it and it was the sweetest little thing.
From listening to staff chat to other visitors the new Jag has arrived and is currently getting to know Napo, unless I misheard and that’s just the plan for when she does arrive. On that note spirit of the jaguar is still as is species wise, Bernie in furthest paddock, bush dogs in the savanna indoor and the jags on the whole other side.
Lots of building work also occurring on the building just outside realm, I think this was a restaurant of some degree if memory serves correct so not sure what’s going on there.

Welcome back, pretty sure Inka is here now. The zoo posted a video of her on Instagram today showing her in the outdoor enclosure.
Great news about the curassow chick, they have a good amount of them now I think. As for the building outside "realm" (I assume this refers to Realm of the Red Ape?) yea that was some kind of café/education centre.

I've seen a photo of Inka in the outdoor enclosure taken today by a member of the public on Facebook - so yes, she's definitely arrived! Sounds like she hasn't been mixed with Napo yet.

The brief from Chester to the local Northwest media implies she will with Napo suuport the conservation of the species. Whilst not actually stating they hope to breed from the pair, that is the implication from the news outlets today.
They cannot breed from this pairing. Napo is infertile.
The people who do the press releases may not be the people managing the animals ...
Just saying.
'Support the conservation of the species' can mean anything- breeding, or non-breeding, 'ambassadors' for the species etc. Its a safe statement(fluff) that covers all possible outcomes..
I personally interpreted it that they wouldn't be breeding, it sounded more like they would be used to promote the threats facing wild Jaguars. I'm really happy anyway, a new female Jaguar at Chester is brilliant news - I just hope that Inka and Napo will get on.
A couple of observations from a visit on a rather wet Wednesday of last week:
- The other fish in the Amazonas aquarium do not appear to have taken kindly to the arrival of the piranhas and were bottled up around the edges of the tank. They may settle in but the overall impression was not terribly good.
- Much amplexus among the Lake Titicaca frogs, so let's hope for a successful breeding season.
- The new access path to Islands has not been constructed to the Zoo's usual high standard and was badly flooded.
- A pair of Little Grebe have nested in the monkey moat, close by the Mandrills.
- In Monsoon Forest, a Crowned Pigeon was on eggs in a precarious nest directly above the path.
When London Zoo was threatened with closure from 1990-92, one of the newspapers asked what would happen to the Californian sealions. London Zoo didn't have any sealions at the time.
