I would imagine so as the Dam is & 6 out of 7 of the males are.Is this new Chimpanzee baby a pure West African?
Hint for would-be Pallas Cat watchers; That's exactly the same conditions as I saw them best at Howletts too- late in the day and it was very quiet. Active in more than one enclosure where they were invisible earlier.Saw two Pallas Cat - maybe because it was late afternoon and no other visitors in area.
Did you see two then? I was pretty sure I overheard a keeper on Monday say there was still only one.I think someone was asking how many Red Panda there now are?
Two.
One even moved! (Well, its head slightly...)

They had 2 pallas cats on display a couple of weeks ago, one roaming and one lying in the long grass.
I did hear the keeper say "she likes to climb up really high in the middle tree" so maybe I missed a reference to a new male. Good to hearOne in the smaller Oak at the "owl" end of the enclosure. T'other higher up in the largest of the mature trees (which didn't actually move, but pretty sure it wasn't a discarded soft toy at that height).
