Chester Zoo Chester Zoo Review

I believe so- certainly in Uk & Europe. I think Peking/Beijing Zoo had 'wild' Bactrian camels at one stage, or maybe still do.

All captive Bactrians outside China are domesticated. Beijing Zoo does yet keep wild Bactrians and the Mongolia/China Gobi project maintains a small semi captive herd in the Lop Nur reserve.

Iran is in a different zoogeographical zone to China/Mongolia. No Bactrian camels ever ranged inside Iran, but the Elbruz and Himalayas put paid to that movement due south. In their Central Asian heartland they range in the territory of both kiangs and Mongolian wild ass (note the difference to Mongolian wild horse ...).

i love the review, i went to chester for the first time not long ago and planned my route according to the review, i really enjoyed spirit of the jaguar.

Bactrian camels - it annoys me when zoos announces a birth of one , claiming this is an endangered species . In reality it is no different to the birth of a domestic sheep , goat , pig , cow or horse .
